I have to spell it again and again: God provides! He provides and gives all that we need! Every time I realize that I am worried or stressed I remind myself: God cares! Yes, He does! And I forgot it again! What luck! I can let go. I can relax. When one of my daughters misses the connecting train in Spain and suddenly has to spend the night alone in Madrid. When the other daughter is looking for a nice, affordable apartment and the real estate agent says there are 300 people interested in 1 apartment. Both had a happy ending this week! A safe stay in Madrid and a nice apartment for our newlyweds! God takes good care of us! Always. Sometimes I am on my cell phone researching, but God is the one who really knows what we need. But soon after God has helped so well, I find myself worrying again. For example, we can't find a suitable bed for the bedroom. As if that was a problem for God! Shouldn't He who gave us an apartment also be able to provide the furniture? We keep our eyes open. When the time comes, the right bed will come. And everything else. Such important things as the necessary visa for our Brazilian son-in-law. And medical care for the youngest on her way to Africa.
Right now, I am helping my daughters a lot as they start their new phase of life. It's exciting, exhausting, and cool. I'm happy for them! And then suddenly they will be gone. Our apartment will actually have a real guest room. No, I don't really want to call it that, a writing room! Space, order, peace? We will miss our girls! But God provides there, too. Not only for the children. But also for the parents. We will also have adventures! Writing. Canoeing. At church. Home is exciting too! And so is the trusted spouse! It doesn't have to be new or far away to be exciting. We can go on a journey of discovery at home, too, and try to see our lives with new eyes. How beautiful is our forest path by the stream! It wouldn't be more beautiful in Canada or New Zealand! Which nearby mountain is new to me and am I up to conquer it?
Which river can we explore by canoe? Or maybe we just go for a walk and visit well-known but beautiful places and discover new things there. Trees, animals, stones. Light and shadow. To Look close and not take it for granted. Revive and nurture old friendships. Appreciate with thankfullness.
-I almost forgot that I'm going to Brazil myself soon! So there is an adventure trip for us too, not just for the kids! But afterwards comes everyday life, which wants to be appreciated anew.
How good that we are always in God's hand and that He is always with us! He takes care of us far better than any father or insurance company can.
So what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn´t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself in the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn´t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing wiht one of God´s chosen?
